"Helicopters" For Trombone Ensemble
- Digital Download: Score and Parts + Audio Demo
Brian Scarborough
Helicopters is inspired by the gentle, spiraling descent of the seeds of the maple tree—commonly called “helicopters” for the way they spin through the air. There’s a simple, quiet beauty in watching them fall, spinning gently as they float through the air. This work aims to capture both that motion and the sense of joy that can arise from a walk on a beautiful day with these delicate seeds fluttering all around.
Helicopters is an excellent opening or closing piece, and is ideal for choirs of 8 - 12 performers, though it can be performed by larger ensembles as well.
